1. Snowball 

Snowball is a cleantech hub located in Harelbeke, Belgium. We provide an innovative and sustainable working environment for companies and entrepreneurs active in sectors such as energy, mobility, and the circular economy. Our campus fosters collaboration between startups, scale-ups, established businesses, and research institutions, with the aim of accelerating the transition to a low-carbon future. Snowball offers workspaces, meeting facilities, testing infrastructure, and an on-site restaurant to its residents and visitors. 

2. Personal data processed by Snowball 

As part of its services, Snowball processes certain personal data of its residents and visitors. The following categories of personal data may be processed for the purposes listed below: Purpose Personal data Legal basis

 3. Sharing personal data with third parties 

To ensure the efficient and secure operation of our services, Snowball may share personal data with carefully selected third parties who support us in delivering our offerings. These third parties only process 

data on our behalf and in accordance with applicable data protection laws. We ensure that appropriate data processing agreements are in place. The categories of third parties that may have access to personal data include:

4. How long Snowball retains your personal data 

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, as well as any other legally permitted related purpose. Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the data and the applicable legal or operational requirements. 

5. How Snowball protects your personal data 

Snowball prioritizes high standards of information security in managing the data of our residents and visitors. We implement reasonable and appropriate security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include computer security systems such as firewalls and data encryption. Access to personal data is granted only to employees who need the information to perform their duties. 

6. Surveillance cameras 

At Snowball, surveillance cameras are in operation in and around the building. These cameras are used for the following purposes: ensuring the safety of employees, visitors, and property; preventing, detecting, or investigating incidents or criminal activities; and controlling access to the premises. 

The processing of camera footage is carried out in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Belgian Camera Surveillance Act of 21 March 2007. Footage is retained for a maximum of thirty (30 days. 

Camera surveillance is clearly indicated at the entrance of the building through legally required signage. Visitors have the right to request access to footage in which they appear, provided they submit a motivated request with sufficient information to identify the relevant footage. 

7. Your rights 

In accordance with applicable data protection legislation, which may include certain exceptions, you have the following rights:
